Hi Kodyn
I think todays Variant XV Sudoku had more than one solution - 3X7 in bottom of column 2 and 7 are interchangeable , as are 45 in row 3 and 4 .

Nick

Hello Nick!

If you read the rules carefully, you will see that there is mentioned that all cells are marked ( 'V' or 'X').
So it is possible to use the inverted rule for solving and once there isn't mark there can not be sum of 5 or 10 - regarding to the last sentence of the rules.

And that's the reason why it has only one solution and why fast players play so fast Smile

I hope that it is clear now.

Kodyn

rules

Place a digit from 1 to 9 into each of the empty squares so that each digit appears exactly once in each of the rows, columns, 3x3 box. All adjacent cells with two digits summing to 5 are marked by V, while those summing to 10 are marked by X. The cells edges which do not contain a V or an X cannot have digits summing to 5 or 10.
